What is the difference between squalane and squalene?

Squalane is naturally found in your skin—sort of. Sebum, which serves as skin’s innate moisturizer, consists of triglycerides, wax esters, and squalene, as Marisa Garshick, MD, a board-certified dermatologist in New York City, previously explained.
