What’s the ‘big deal’?
The third generation Panamera is a long awaited update to the sport saloon as the second-generation has been on sale since 2016, without any major updates. More importantly, it is also being speculated that this could be the last petrol-powered Panamera that is produced by Porsche going forward. However, Porsche has not confirmed this news yet.
More powerful engines options but hybrid:
The 2024 Panamera is being offered in two turbocharged engine options, a 2.9-litre V6 for the Panamera and Panamera 4 and the 4.0-litre V8 engine in the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid, which is additionally a plug-in hybrid. The drivetrain put out a combined power figure of 680 hp and 930 Nm of torque. The E-Hybrid gets an 8-speed PDK automatic transmission but the special part is that it has the electric motor integrated within it, saving an additional 5 kg by removing the need for a separate electric motor.

Latest Porsche tech:
The biggest tech update to the 2024 Panamera is inside, with Porsche loading it with its entire arsenal of next-generation tech. The Panamera now gets the ‘Porsche Driver Experience’ digital dashboard that we have earlier seen in the Taycan EV and more recently in the 2023 Cayenne SUV. Just like them, the new Panamera now features no less than three digital screens on the front dashboard. A 12.6-inch curved digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.9-inch passenger display.
All-new suspension:
The 2024 Panamera gets Porsche’s two-valve air suspension system called the ‘Porsche Active Suspension Management’ as standard equipment. There is also the option for all-wheel steering for better handling and the automaker claims that the air suspension allows for a wider range of driving comfort and sportiness. The air suspension can also compensate for pitching, rolling and acceleration force to occupants while keeping the chassis straight.

Price:
In Germany, the 2024 Panamera has a starting price of 107,800 euro (Rs 98.19 lakh) and 192,500 euro (Rs 1.75 crore)for the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid. The Panamera 4 has been priced at 111,900 euro (Rs 1.01 crore).
Will it be launched in India?
Deliveries of the all-new Panamera will begin in Europe in March 2024, Porsche has made no announcement related to its arrival in India. We expect the 2024 Panamera to be announced for india some time after its European launch.
