It led to a bold statement from Cowboys star Micah Parsons and responses from Deebo Samuel and Kittle himself.
Kittle’s homage to former 49ers linebacker Gary Plummer’s T-shirt from the 1990s was apparently lost on Parsons, who thought Kittle was making things “personal” toward Dallas.
Parsons’ bold comments came less than 24 hours after he was held to four tackles and no sacks while his self-proclaimed “best defense in the National Football League” gave up more points in one game than they had all season before Sunday (41).

Those comments were played for Samuel on FanDuel’s “Up and Adams” show with Kay Adams on Tuesday morning. The 49ers wide receiver seemed to dismiss the comments — and maybe Parsons himself — pretty quickly.
“It was already personal before the game started,” Samuel said. “42-10, I don’t think you want to see us again. It might be a little bit worse.”
With Adams speechless, Samuel continued, “I don’t know what we’re trusting. Talking about, ‘We trust,’ and, ‘Laugh now, cry later.’ I mean, I don’t think you want to see us again.”

Kittle also discussed Parsons’ comments during an appearance on KNBR-AM’s “Murph and Mac” morning show Tuesday. After hosts Brian Murphy and Paul McCaffrey played Parsons’ comments in full, Kittle responded with compliments toward Dallas, a long explanation of why he got the shirt made and why he wore it.
“I think Dallas is a wonderful organization, they’ve won a ton of Super Bowls and I respect the hell out of them and their players,” Kittle said. “… At the end of the day, it’s the Niners versus the Cowboys. It’s historic. … We stand on the shoulders of those that came before us. The 49ers of the ’80s and ’90s, they won a lot of football games, and we stand on those shoulders. We see those Super Bowl trophies every single day.
“It’s fun to channel that energy once in a while, so that’s all I was doing. I had some fun with it. Do I regret anything? No, not at all, and I’d do it again.”

Kittle had the type of game Sunday that backed up his attire, scoring touchdowns on all three passes he caught. But the known professional wrestling fan said he would have flashed the shirt even if he didn’t score, as long as the 49ers won.
“I’m a mild internet troll, it’s just kind of the age I grew up in,” Kittle said. “… I had so much fun.”
One thing is definitely for sure: At 5-0 and looking like the best team in the NFL, Kittle and the 49ers seem to be enjoying themselves right now.
