Based on the sights and sounds, fans tuning in to Sunday’s 49ers game in Arizona could surely mistake it for a Niner home game.

Not only were the 49ers wearing their usual home jerseys, but the Faithful fans seemed to outnumber the Cardinals fans — and seemingly forced the home team to adjust.

Throughout the first quarter, the Cardinals’ offense went to a silent count on offense, having an offensive guard signal to the center when to hike the ball to quarterback Kyler Murray. It’s a common move for teams to use on the road in hostile environments. It’s not that common for a team to use in their own building, though.

After one second quarter catch by Niner fullback Kyle Juszczyk, the common 49ers fan chant “Juuuuuuice” was so loud, CBS play-by-play broadcaster Ian Eagle made a public note of the game’s location as a reminder for viewers, too.

49ers fans were clearly in Glendale all throughout the weekend, too. Videos from a Saturday party at McFadden’s, a restaurant in the shopping center next to State Farm Stadium, showed a massive Niner fan presence. Some fans even brought out big letters to spell “Brock Party” in a nod to quarterback (and Arizona native) Brock Purdy.

The 49ers are leading the Cardinals 21-13 late in the second quarter.
