Punjab, which is predominantly Sikh, and Gujarat, which has a significant tribal population, have expressed dissatisfaction with the central leadership’s decision to support the UCC without consulting them. AAP leaders in Gujarat have also launched a campaign against the UCC in tribal areas, arguing that it would infringe on the diverse customs and laws followed by different communities. The party has faced resignations from tribal leaders opposing its stance on the UCC, emphasizing the need for wider consultations and consideration of community rights.
