RFK Jr. set to give testimony in House hearing on censorship

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is scheduled to give testimony in a congressional hearing next Thursday regarding the federal government’s involvement in censorship nationwide.

In an update on its website, the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government has identified Kennedy Jr. as one of the three witnesses who will be testifying.

The other witnesses are Breitbart News journalist Emma-Jo Morris and D. John Sauer, the Special Assistant Attorney General of the Louisiana Department of Justice.

The subcommittee’s hearing will focus on the federal government’s role in censoring U.S. citizens, the Biden administration’s lawsuit against Missouri regarding the state’s gun rights bills, and allegations of collaboration between major tech companies and government agencies to suppress free speech.

This hearing comes after Kennedy’s announcement of his 2024 presidential campaign in April. Kennedy has often been labeled as an “anti-vaccine activist,” and in June, YouTube removed an interview between Kennedy and Jordan Peterson for violating its guidelines on vaccine misinformation.

In a statement to The Hill, the social media platform stated that its policy on general vaccine misinformation “prohibits content that claims vaccines cause chronic side effects, except for rare side effects recognized by health authorities.”

Kennedy is the son of former Attorney General Robert Kennedy and the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy.

In June, Kennedy’s personal Instagram account was reinstated after being permanently removed by the platform in 2021 due to repeated posts of COVID-19 misinformation.
