Sawan Shivratri 2023: Date, Shubh Muhurat, And Puja Vidhi to Please Lord Shiva on His Day
Hindus celebrate Sawan Shivratri, a festival dedicated to Lord Shiva, every year on the Chaturdashi tithi in the month of Shravan. This year, Sawan Shivratri 2023 holds immense importance, as the Panchang predicts it to be especially auspicious for followers of Lord Shiva. Devotees worship Lord Shiva fervently during this month to seek his blessings and attain spiritual enlightenment. Sawan Shivratri, observed on July 15, 2023, is one of the main occasions in the month of Sawan. Temples across the nation will perform special prayers to Lord Shiva and his family. Devotees will perform the Maha Rudra-Abhishek puja on this day to invite tranquility, marital joy, prosperity, and good health.
SAWAN SHIVRATRI 2023 DATE AND SHUBH MUHURAT
According to Drik Panchang, the Chaturdashi tithi of Sawan Shivratri will begin at 8.32 PM on July 15, 2023, and end at 10.08 PM on July 16, 2023. The Nishita Kaal Puja will take place on July 16 from 12.07 AM to 12.48 AM. It’s important to note that the Chaturdashi tithi also occurs from August 14 at 10.25 AM to August 15 at 12.42 PM.
SAWAN SHIVRATRI 2023 PUJA VIDHI
Visit a Lord Shiva temple and offer Jalabhishek to the Shiv Ling. It is customary to wake up early, take a holy bath, and worship Lord Shiva’s statue while reciting the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaya.’ Maintain a strict fast throughout the day, especially on Mondays. Recite the Mahamrutunjaya mantra dedicated to Lord Shiva 108 times. Offer milk, curd, ghee, honey, and Ganga Jal to the Shiv Ling to perform Rudrabhishek. The Kanwar Yatra is another significant ritual during this time. Pilgrims travel on foot to Lord Shiva temples, collect holy water from sacred rivers, and perform unique worship and rituals for Lord Shiva using this water.

Sanatan Dharma is home to many followers of Lord Shiva. To receive the blessings of Bholenath, every devotee worships him and chants mantras. Shiva Day is observed every Monday, emphasizing the special significance of anointing the Shivling with fresh milk. It is believed to be highly beneficial to recite the Om Namah Shivay mantra 108 times while wearing a Rudraksha rosary during this time. Sawan is considered a holy month where Lord Shiva is worshipped with the hope of achieving success, marriage, and prosperity.
