Evacuation warnings and road closures are still in place as crews are battling a wildfire just south of Shasta Lake, according to authorities.
The Wonder Fire was first reported at around 4:15 p.m. near Wonderland Boulevard and Fawndale Road, just off Interstate 5, as mentioned in a social media post by the Cal Fire Shasta-Trinity Unit.
As of 9:05 p.m., the fire has already consumed 80 acres of grass, brush, and timber, with a containment of 5%, according to Cal Fire. Numerous ground and air resources are at the scene, and additional resources have been requested.

An evacuation warning has been issued by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office for the Bridge Bay Marina area.
At approximately 7 p.m., the sheriff’s office announced the closure of Wonderland Boulevard to northbound traffic at Fawndale Road. Additionally, the off-ramps to the marina, both southbound and northbound, have been closed.
