An American expat has become popular on social media after posting a video criticizing Australian supermarkets. Kendall Wheeler, originally from Texas, visited a Coles store in Queensland with her Australian boyfriend. In the viral video, she pointed out several things that she found “weird” about Australian grocery shopping. These included the name of vegetables, Australian chip flavors, candy being called “lollies”, Australian-made American mustard, and the bright red color of hot dogs. The video has been viewed over 599,000 times and Wheeler hinted at making a follow-up video to list more “weird” things. Some viewers were confused or disagreed with her observations.
