Anil Sharma, Director of Gadar 2, Unveils the True Cause for the Delay in Trailer Launch | Updates from the Hindi Film Industry

The makers of Gadar 2 have finally unveiled the film’s official trailer at a grand event in Mumbai attended by Anil Sharma, Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Shariq Patel, Simrat Kaur, Mithoon, Alka Yagnik, Jubin Nautiyal and Aditya Narayan. During the event, Anil, who is the director and producer of the film, revealed the reason why there was a 2-hour delay in Gadar 2 trailer launch.

Speaking to the media, Anil said that they got the censor certificate of the film only at 5.30 pm in the evening. The censor board kept asking for revisions in the trailer before granting the censor certificate to the trailer.
“We were also given to understand that it was the 16th version of the trailer and of course there were some dialogues that were asked to be muted and then eventually cleared without any issue,” Anil said at the event.

“As it is obvious from the trailer there are quite a few times the principal characters of the film use the name Pakistan,” he added.

The 3-minute-long trailer showcases Tara Singh and Sakeena’s (played by Ameesha Patel) legacy, set amidst the tumultuous ‘Crush India Movement’ of 1971. Tara Singh, (played by Sunny Deol), is seen going all the way to Pakistan to save his kid, Charan Jeet Singh (played by Utkrash Sharma) from the Pakistani Army.

Gadar 2 is all set to hit the theatres on August 11. The film will be facing a big Bollywood clash with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 which is releasing on the same date.
