Mitsubishi has unveiled its new-generation competitor to popular pickup trucks such as the Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, and Mazda BT-50. The sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton, also known as the L200 in some markets, is set to replace the current model that dates back to 2015. This new Triton will be available globally in three body styles: single-cab, club-cab, and double-cab. It features a newly developed 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, with three different power tunes available. The range includes a 110kW/330Nm tune, a 135kW/430Nm tune, and a high-output 150kW/470Nm tune with a bi-turbo sequential layout. The new Triton will be offered with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission and will have rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive options. Features such as active yaw control and active limited-slip differential have been added to enhance performance and safety. The design has been updated, with a Dynamic Shield grille, split headlight setup, and T-shaped lighting signature for the tail lights. Inside, the cabin has been overhauled with a horizontally themed design, geometric shapes, and metallic highlights. The new Triton also comes with advanced safety features like autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control.
