According to the driver, named Deepak, the woman named Jyoti had booked a cab through the Ola app from Medanta Hospital at 9 PM. Allegedly, she kept riding around the city until 11 AM the next day. When Deepak asked her to pay the fare of Rs 2,000, she refused and verbally abused him. Deepak also claimed that she threatened to falsely accuse him of molestation.
The disagreement escalated when the driver suggested dropping her off and ending the trip, but Jyoti still refused to pay. Deepak then called the police, who arrived at the scene. However, Jyoti continued arguing with the cops and a female journalist who was filming the incident. The journalist shared the video on Twitter.
Other social media users also shared similar video clips of Jyoti arguing with cab drivers and refusing to pay. It’s been alleged that she has a history of taking cab rides and avoiding payment by threatening drivers with false accusations of molestation or harassment.
The incident has been taken seriously by the police, and an investigation is underway.
