Through a teaser shared on its social media platform, the company revealed that the EV will feature a coloured digital instrument cluster, however, it remains to be seen whether it will be a TFT or LCD unit.
Talking about the mechanical distinctions from the more powerful 450X, the Ather 450S will have a smaller 3kWh battery pack compared to the former’s 3.7kWh unit, resulting in a lower range. Ather claims the 450S can travel 115 km on a full charge with a top speed of 90 kmph.
In contrast, the 450X offers a range of 146 km on a full charge, but the top speed remains the same at 90kmph.

The 450S is likely to come equipped with LED headlights, telescopic front forks, disc brakes on both ends, a monoshock at the rear, and sharp rear side panels like its older sibling.
The introductory price for the Ather 450S will be Rs 1.29 lakh, ex-showroom. Once launched, it will compete with other electric scooters in the segment like the TVS iQube, Ola S1 Air, and Bajaj Chetak.
In May 2023, Ather Energy sold 15,256 electric scooters, registering its best-ever sales numbers in a month. The sales were fueled by the Ministry of Heavy Industries’ nod to reduce the FAMEII subsidies from June. Hence, the electric two-wheeler sales saw a sudden surge during the month as customers rushed to purchase electric scooters and motorcycles before the manufacturers started hiking the prices of their products.
