A fatal crash early Sunday shut all southbound lanes of Highway 13 near Montclair and left one pedestrian dead.
California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a man crawling in the slow lane at 1:17 a.m. near the Park Boulevard onramp.
According to California Highway Patrol, the man was walking in the number two lane when he was hit by two separate cars, one of which was a black Toyota Corolla. Both drivers remained on the scene, and no drugs or alcohol were suspected in the crash.
Oakland Fire Department responded and confirmed the fatality at 1:33 a.m. The California Highway Patrol ordered the highway closed soon after, diverting traffic onto Park Boulevard.
The highway reopened to southbound traffic at 3:38 a.m.
As of June, four pedestrians had been killed in Oakland this year.
