Kyle Sandilands has revealed that he has been warned about the potential of being diagnosed with leukemia. The 52-year-old radio announcer, who became a father in August 2022, has previously spoken about health scares, including dangerously high blood pressure. He mentioned that he has made changes to his lifestyle, such as reducing alcohol consumption and unhealthy foods. However, Sandilands has now disclosed that he recently had blood tests and doctors have cautioned him that “the numbers are on the way up” and “if it gets up to 16 then I have leukemia”. He did not provide further details about his condition. Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the white blood cells and may also impact the bone marrow, compromising the body’s ability to fight infections. Sandilands shared this update during his KIIS FM program and sought the opinion of Dr Sam Hay, also known as ‘Dr KIIS’, on his situation. While Sandilands expressed concerns about his health, Dr Hay reassured him that he will not die, but encouraged him to undergo further tests as a precaution. Sandilands also raised the topic of marijuana use and asked if it could potentially cause leukemia.
