Revealing the Brilliant Retro Design of the New 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

Toyota has officially unveiled the all-new Land Cruiser and the legendary model has seen a major update over the previous generation. Most notably, Toyota has completely redesigned the Land Cruiser, which now gets a modern retro design. While the Land Cruiser has gone back to a more traditional and boxy exterior design and silhouette, modern elements such as the LED headlamps and sculpted body work, make it look very modern and cutting-edge. More importantly, the Land Cruiser has in fact become more affordable and smaller in size, when compared to its predecessor. The new model is 4.4 inch narrower and 1.2 inch shorter than the previous model, which is claimed to make it a more capable off-roader.

Toyota has also unveiled the 2024 Land Cruiser with a hybrid-only powertrain option. It gets a 4-cylinder, 2.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine which is paired to an electric motor and 1.87 kWh battery pack. Power is delivered via an 8-speed automatic transmission and the powertrain produces a combined output of 326 hp and 630 Nm of torque. Complimenting its go anywhere heritage, is Toyota’s advanced 4WD system which will be offered as standard equipment.

The interior is again a modern retro themed affair and loved to the gills with all the latest features that you would expect from an SUV of this segment. It gets a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, ventilated seats, Heads Up Display, multiple-terrain AWD system, wireless charging and more. The new Land Cruiser is based on Toyota’s TNGA-F platform which gives it a ground clearance of 221 mm. It is 4,920 mm long and 2,139 mm wide. A wheelbase of 2,850 mm guarantees a lot of room inside the cabin of the 2024 Land Cruiser. In some international markets such as the US, the Land Cruiser will also feature the ‘Prado’ suffix and comes with two distinct front designs. Prices in the US start from USD 50,000 or Rs 41.31 lakh approximately.
