While the Compass served as a direct rival to the likes of Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector and Tata Harrier, the pricing has pushed it into a different league altogether.The Compass facelift was launched in the Indian market in January 2021 at a base price of Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which means that it is now more expensive by almost Rs 5 lakh!

It should be noted that the Compass has lost its 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine in the BS6 Phase II era, and now is solely offered with the 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel motor putting out 170 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed MT and an optional 9-speed torque converter AT. The three-row Meridian is also offered with the same powertrain. Front-wheel drive is standard for both, with 4×4 also available as an option.
