A lottery expert has spilled the secrets you need to know to increase your chance of winning the $100 million Powerball jackpot.
Up to half of Australians are expected to buy a ticket in the coveted Powerball draw 1420, the prize for which is the equal-biggest jackpot of any Australian lottery game this year.

The massive prize has come about because there have been no division one winners for the past five Powerball draws, according to The Lott.
But the draw before that – six weeks ago – netted a man from the Sydney suburb of Bankstown $100 million, after he pocketed the entire prize, becoming Australia’s second-biggest individual lottery winner.
Appearing on The Morning Show on Thursday, The Lott spokesman Matt Hart shared his insider’s knowledge of what to do when buying a ticket.
“Ok here’s the scoop, here’s the low down,” he told hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies.
Interestingly, the expert said previous division one winners scooped up the mega prize after choosing “marked” entries, which lets you play numbers that are meaningful to you.
“So far this year, there’s been nine division one winning entries – five of those nine have been marked entries,” he explained.
“People are selecting the numbers themselves – birthdays to anniversaries have worked for those people.”
According to The Lott’s annual report, Mr Hart said the other four of the nine division one winning entries were a “PowerHit”.
“So these would be my best tips,” he added.
A PowerHit ticket increases your chance of winning Powerball – by guaranteeing you the Powerball number.
You’ll only have to select (or QuickPick) seven numbers from 1 to 35 and you won’t have to luck on the all-important Powerball number yourself.
