A rental in Sydney’s west which costs more than $1000 a week has been exposed after a video shared on social media revealed vast discrepancies in how the property looked as opposed to how it appeared online.
On Sunday, a TikTok was posted by a user with the handle @grugg13 along with the hashtag #shitrentalsofsydney in the video’s onscreen caption.
The video shows a home located in Strathfield which is currently listed online for $1300 a week.

While the online listing depicts a neat and tidy house with a perfectly manicured backyard, the TikTok clip paints a different picture.
The video opens up on a dead mouse in the property’s backyard before panning to an overgrown and dead lawn.
Once inside the property, the TikTok shows several of the home’s walls and ceilings are damaged, and the kitchen appears old and run down.
In the bathroom, a stained shower curtain can be seen.
The property’s online listing features photos of a perfect, luscious lawn and a fairly neat and clean interior.

TikTok users who commented on the video were shocked about the price of the property considering its condition.
“No way?? $1300 a week, are you serious??,” one person wrote.
“That’s absolutely crazy.
“They make it look so clean in the pictures on the website.”
Another person wrote: “The photoshopping on the grass is impressive!”
The listing agent was contacted for comment.
