Vivo leads the smartphone market in India
Based on a recent report by IDC, Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has emerged as the leader in the smartphone industry during Q2 of 2023. Formerly holding the top spot, Samsung now closely trails behind in second place. The report reveals that Vivo captured an impressive 16% market share in the second quarter of this year, marking a substantial 7.4% increase compared to the previous year. Noteworthy is the fact that Vivo, excluding its subsidiary brand iQOO, has surged to the forefront of the market by driving its expansion through the introduction of its V series models, as analyzed by IDC. In contrast, Samsung now occupies the second position with a 15.7% market share, albeit experiencing a decline of 6.2% compared to the previous year. The third position is held by Realme, which commands a 12.6% market share but has encountered a significant downturn of 29.8% compared to the previous year.
