A member of Aespa, the first K-pop group to perform at Outside Lands, will not be performing at the festival after “showing symptoms of the flu.”
In a social media post shared Thursday evening, Aespa’s record label SM Entertainment wrote that Giselle “unfortunately will be unable to perform at Outside Lands with her members.”
“She is focusing on resting and getting better as recommended by the doctor,” the message continued. “Despite the artist’s strong will to participate and perform, the decision was made to prioritize her condition and wellness.”

The show is expected to continue with Aespa’s three other members: Karina, Ningning, and Winter. The group is scheduled to perform at Outside Lands Friday evening.
The Outside Lands set is Aespa’s last show before the group embarks on its inaugural worldwide tour. Aespa is set to perform at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, but it is unclear if Giselle will appear. Giselle also sat out Aespa’s set at the Governors Ball festival in New York City, citing “health issues.”
Earlier this year, Aespa dropped its third EP, “My World” — led by the Death Grips-goes-K-pop bop “Spicy.”
Drag superstar Trixie Mattel also pulled out from the festival earlier this week “due to an unforeseen circumstance.”
