Sunrise star Sam Mac has shared a hilarious update about his daughter during a live on-air segment, describing her as “lazy”.

The popular weather presenter was broadcasting from Skateaway, a rollerskating club based in Albany Creek in Brisbane.

While chatting to head coach Jodie, Sam learned many skaters start the sport when they’re as young as 18 months.

“That’s right, if you can walk you can skate,” she said.

Jodie went on to say that her own daughter started skating when she was just 11 months old.

The news sparked an amusing reaction from Sam, whose daughter Margot is the same age.

“Eleven months. So my Margot, my daughter’s 11 months and she’s not even walking yet — lazy!” he said.

Sam added: “We thought she was advanced, like all parents – but apparently not.”

Jodie responded that the team at Skateaway would have her up and moving in no time.

“Bring her to my classes and we’ll be able to help her out,” she said.

Last month, Sam shared a sweet moment with his daughter on his official Instagram page.

“Margot’s first time on a swing! Ten months in and this is one of my favourite dad moments so far,” he said.

“I hope as the years tick by, she never loses that joyous full-faced unapologetic beaming smile. Nothing makes me happier!

“Although, Ideally it’s with a few more teeth in the future.”

He added: “My Dad said ‘She looks like a Collingwood supporter’ … I would never make such a joke.”
