The EQE first made its debut globally back in October 2022 and went on sale a few months later. The electric SUV is based on Mercedes’ EVA (electric vehicle architecture) platform which also underpins three other models. The EQE looks similar to EQS at the front and it gets a sloping roofline and an angled tailgate. Mercedes is also expected to offer AMG trim which will feature a Panamerica-style front grille with redesigned bumpers and bigger aerodynamically designed alloy wheels.
Inside, the EQE electric SUV will feature dual screens for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system. Other features will include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Mercedes Me connected car tech, leatherette seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, multi-zone climate control, adaptive LED headlights, Burmester surround sound system, head-up display, 64-colour ambient interior lighting and many more.
Talking about the electric motor and the battery pack, globally the EQE gets 89 and 90.6 kWh battery pack options. The base EQE 350+ gets a single motor setup which puts out 292 hp and 565 Nm of torque. The EQE 350 4Matic gets a dual-motor setup and puts out the same 292 hp but 765 Nm torque. The EQE 500 4Matic also gets a dual-motor setup and puts out 408 hp of power and 858 Nm of torque. There’s also EQE 53 4Matic+ AMG which produces tremendous 1000 Nm of torque and can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 3.5 seconds (claimed).
The new Mercedes-Benz EQE will be positioned between the EQS and the EQB SUVs. The prices for the EQE are expected to start from Rs 1 crores and will rival Audi e-tron, BMW iX and Jaguar I-pace.
