Here’s Exactly How Selena Gomez’s Nail Artist Created Her “Bubblegum Disco” Nails — See the Photos

Selena Gomez is ready to party — and so is her manicure. For her new single “Single Soon,” Gomez and her go-to nail artist Tom Bachik ditched the neutral shades and milk bath manis in favor of a Barbie pink “bubblegum disco” set that shimmered just like the upbeat summer pop song.

We got a sneak peek at said manicure a few weeks ago, when Gomez teased her Y2K-glam video look on Instagram Stories; it looked perfect with her metallic eyeshadow and messy 2000s updo in the video, making me want to replicate it on my own ASAP despite the fact that I’m happily married and not about to be “Single Soon.” Luckily for me (and all of us), Bachik is sharing all the details behind the glittery mani, including the exact shades he used to turn Gomez’s nails into a disco celebration.

According to his Instagram, Bachik first perfected Gomez’s natural nails and cuticles with his Tweezerman Ultimate Nail Care Set, then applied Aprés Nail’s Maisie Stiletto GelX Tips and softened the extensions into a delicate squoval “ballerina” shape. Once the extensions were set, Bachik painted on a few coats of [Aprés Gel Couleur polish in Sweet Cheeks,] the ideal light Barbie pink. For that light-reflecting sparkle, Bachik reached for the Rich Girl Retro Color Cube from his collaboration with nail brand Modelones, specifically the glittery Champagne Supernova shade. A top coat sealed the deal and Gomez was ready to get her flirt on.
