Ever since Akshay Kumar unveiled the new title of his forthcoming film’s title from ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Indian Rescue’ to ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’, it has been trending and making news.
Now, the makers have dropped a first motion poster which offers a sneak peek into the gripping rescue operation that unfolded when miners found themselves trapped beneath the 350-foot-deep coal mine.

Tinu Suresh Desai’s directorial ‘Mission Raniganj’ is based on a real-life incident at Raniganj Coalfield and inspired by the heroic act of the Late Shri Jaswant Singh Gill who led India’s coal mine rescue mission. The real-life hero, a resident of Amritsar, Gill received several awards for his act of bravery. He passed away in 2019 at the age of 80.
Recently, Akki shared the motion poster and announced the release date of the movie, he wrote, “In 1989, one man achieved the impossible! Watch the story of Bharat’s true hero with #MissionRaniganj in cinemas on 6th October.” Soon after he shared the posts, netizens rushed to the comment section to pen their reactions. While fans expressed excitement, a section of netizens also trolled the actor for using the name ‘Bharat.’
‘Mission Raniganj’ also stars Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, among others. The film will be released in theatres on October 6, 2023.
