Spotify has launched a new addition to its platform, designed to help make your music offerings even more personalised.

The new “daylist” feature is a playlist that changes throughout the day to suit the user’s ever-changing mood.

Spotify’s other personalised playlist offerings typically change every day or every week.

“Throughout the day, your mood changes, and so does the music you listen to,” the streaming service said.

Available now, “daylist” updates multiple times a day to offer a series of highly specific playlists to users depending on their mood.

With every update, users will get a new set of songs and a new title to describe their mood, such as “windows down”, “thrillwave Monday evening” and “90s rave rainforest late night”.

“Daylist” is created using information Spotify already has on the musical niches and microgenres users typically stream at certain times of the day and week.

Tracks are chosen in each playlist to match both the musical descriptor and time of day — which includes both familiar tracks and new tracks Spotify think individual users will like.

Search “daylist” in the Spotify app or head to spotify.com/daylist to access the personalised playlist.

Spotify is known for its personalised offerings, including its much-loved Spotify Wrapped.

The annual wrap of users’ most-listened to tracks is released every December, sourcing data from January 1 to October 31.
