BART rider stabbed in Oakland; suspect arrested

OAKLAND — A man riding a BART train was stabbed early Friday and another passenger was arrested as the suspect, officials said.

The man’s condition was not available, but BART officials said the injury was not believed to be life-threatening. His age and place of residence were not released.

Officials have not yet said if the victim and suspect knew each other.

The stabbing was reported about 12:20 a.m. Friday on a train that was arriving at the 19th Street Station, officials said.

A 44-year-old Oakland man riding the train allegedly stabbed the victim, BART officials said.
