The Toronto Raptors announced Friday they have added to their upper management level and filled some positions left vacant by some departures.

The most notable of the moves has former Raptors 905 GM Chad Sanders moving up to the front office level with the parent club and assuming the role of Director of Scouting.

The role was created by the team meaning no one else is leaving.

Sanders has been with the 905 since 2017 and was named 2020-21 NBA G League Executive of the Year.

His role in Mississauga will be filled by Luke Winn, a former senior writer at Sports Illustrated who joined the organization six seasons ago as the Director of Prospect Strategy, a role he will continue in along with the added GM duties with the 905.

The final bits of business of the day saw Rayhan Malik promoted to Head Athletic trainer of the team filling the role left vacant when Scott McCullough did not return for the coming season.

Also, one-time Raptor Ben Uzoh has been hired as a pro scout.

Uzoh is best remembered as the player who had a triple-double in the final Raptors game of the 2012 season, an otherwise totally forgettable season.

The triple double though helped the Raptors secure a win and thereby moved into a seventh place tie with the Golden State Warriors. The Nets wound up moving up to sixth in the draft.

Prior to the draft a coin toss awarded the seventh pick to Golden State leaving the Raptors picking eighth.

The Nets pick was owed to the Portland Trail Blazers who selected Damian Lillard.

The Raptors selected eighth after the Warriors took Harrison Barnes and wound up selecting Terrence Ross.
