Buying an iPhone is a rather expensive proposition. With the iPhone 15 Pro series, that proposition has become even more expensive. One of the reasons — Apple doesn’t say this officially — why the iPhone 15 Pro models are expensive than the previous generation models is the titanium finish. Apple decided to do away with the stainless frame and replaced it with the titanium finish. Now that the the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are now officially available in several parts of the world, it seems like that the Pro models are more in ‘demand’.
Both the iPhones come in an all-new titanium finish, which adds to their striking looks. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max come in four colour options — Natural Titanium, Black Titanium, White Titanium, and Blue Titanium.
According to a report by MacRumors, Apple has updated its support page for cleaning your iPhone. On the page, Apple says, “For iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the oil from your skin might temporarily alter the colour of the outside band.” However, it is a temporary colour change as Apple further says, “Wiping your iPhone with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth will restore the original look.”
No such ‘advisory’ has been issued for the iPhone 15 or the iPhone 15 Plus. The titanium finish is the one that seems to be temporarily affecting the colour of the iPhone 15 Pro Models.
Apple also explains that the iPhone has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic — oil repellent — coating. “Cleaning products and abrasive materials will diminish the coating and might scratch your iPhone,” as per Apple.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max come with a starting price of Rs 1,34,900 and Rs 1,59900 respectively. The iPhone 15 and iPhone Plus come at a starting price of Rs 79,900 and Rs 89,900 respectively.
