MKR judge Colin Fassnidge has made an “emotional” announcement on his social media accounts, surprising his thousands of loyal followers.

The popular star has gained a legion of fans with his charismatic cooking videos, which show him whipping up dishes in his home kitchen.

But on Sunday, Colin has revealed that he had filmed his “last ever video in this kitchen” after making a “bittersweet” decision.

The celebrity chef revealed that he was renovating the space after “nine years”, having saved up enough money to pay for an upgrade.

“Bittersweet – this is my last ever video in this kitchen,” he said. “As you can see, the doors are falling off – because it’s all getting ripped out and we start a reno tomorrow.

“Finally, after nine years we can afford it.”

After sharing his recipe for a new chicken dish, he added: “There you go – my last ever dinner in this kitchen before it gets ripped out.

“I’m not calling it a curry, because all the Karens will say ‘That’s not a curry’. It’s a flavoured coconut, with all the essence of a curry.”

He added: “Can I get a ‘sweet baby Jesus’ – last meal in this kitchen, chicken curry.

“Thank you, kitchen. It’s been emotional.”

Colin’s big news came just a day before he appeared on MKR’s latest Instant Restaurant which saw Nick and Christian cook again in the “redemption” round.

The Melbourne hospitality workers faced off against arch rivals Aaron and Chris in a battle for the top spot on the MKR leaderboard – resulting in a controversial result.

The pair received very good critiques on their three dishes from judges Colin and Manu, with Christian stating that there were “no major negatives”.

So it came as a major blow when they received a “low” score from the teams at the end of the night.

“Twenty seven? I’m sorry – what table were you sitting at?” Christian seethed.

“We’ve gotten extremely positive feedback from the judges all night. Yet the guest teams have only scored us four points higher than Amber and Mel?”

Despite the low score, Nick and Christian scored exceptionally high marks from judges Colin and Manu – leaving them to move to the top of the leaderboard, ahead of Aaron and Chris.

Outspoken MKR contestant Claudeen – who has often called Christian a “w***er” – said she wasn’t excited by the development.

“Definitely don’t think Christian’s ego needed this,” she said.

“I don’t know how he’s actually going to fit in the room with his ego.”
