The National Weather Service reports that September 2023 is on pace to be one of the warmest Septembers in Midland’s history. That follows the summer, which was the second hottest in Midland’s history.

The NWS showed on Monday that the average temperature this month has been 81.6 degrees, which is 4.6 degrees above average and second to just 1977 (82.1 degrees) for the warmest September on record.

The National Weather Service is calling for highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s this week. There is no rainfall in the NWS’ seven-day forecast.

Monday’s low: 72 degrees

Typical low for Sept. 25: 62 degrees

Record high for Sept. 25: 102 degrees in 1977 and 2005
