The new Continental CrossContactH/T range caters to rim size ranging from 15 inches to 18 inches in diameter, which means it will be available for a host of mass-market passenger cars.Select tyre sizes are now available for purchase in the market, while the complete portfolio is said to be available to the market in the coming months.

Continental says that the new CrossContact H/T features a with multi-purpose tread pattern to handle the daily challenges of a passenger car, crossover and SUV tire just as well as a product developed for sole use on asphalt. The tread, rubber compound and structure are designed to be robust enough to handle mild off-road terrains too. To provide additional grip when driving on loose stones and uneven tracks, engineers have added something called ‘grip teeth’ i.e. small protrusions in the tread grooves. These provide the necessary grip on non-asphalt tracks. Furthermore, tyre shoulders have been strengthened to prevent damage from stones and scree.
Furthermore, the CrossContact H/T range is said to get a special tread design that reduces noise level inside and outside the vehicle by around 10% compared to its predecessor. “We are excited to introduce CrossContact H/T in India,” Mr. Samir Gupta, Managing Director of Continental Tires India, and Head of Central Region BA RE APAC commented, “With the multipurpose pattern, low road noise, and improved tread life, the product greatly fulfils Indian drivers needs and ensures a safe and comfortable ride across various Indian terrains.”
