Vivek Ramaswamy, the biotech entrepreneur running in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, is headed to Hoover on Tuesday for a meet and greet hosted by the Alabama Republican Party a day before he squares off with other hopefuls during Wednesday’s debate in Tuscaloosa.
Ramaswamy, 38, will be at the Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, the Alabama Republican Party announced Thursday.
Those who want to attend the meet and greet can do so by RSVPing here. RSVPers will get access to a general reception to hear from Ramaswamy.
ALGOP sold sponsorships to the event that allow the party to open the meet and greet to the public.
Sponsorships are still available for the event and can be purchased here. Donors have access to a private roundtable discussion with Ramaswamy as well as get their pictures taken with the Republican presidential hopeful.
Ramaswamy will be the third presidential hopeful to be hosted by the Alabama Republican Party.
Former President Donald Trump gave the keynote address at ALGOP’s Summer Dinner in August before a sold-out crowd at the Renaissance Hotel in Montgomery.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis headlined the party’s Winter Dinner in March.
Ramaswamy founded the biotech firm Roivant Sciences in 2014. His stake in the company was worth $600 million as of late August, according to Forbes.
His campaign has focused on wokeness in American culture, which has boosted his popularity in the primary race.
He is also advocating cuts to the federal government, including a plan to fire half of the federal workforce on Day 1 of a potential Ramaswamy administration:
Wednesday’s debate is being held at the Frank Moody Music Building at the University of Alabama and will be moderated by Megyn Kelly.
As with every other 2024 GOP presidential debate, Trump will not be in attending the Tuscaloosa forum.
