Despite the price cut, the Jimny Thunder Edition features some visual changes over the standard Jimny, including mountain graphics on the sides, a front skid plate garnish, front fender garnish, rear fender garnish, door cladding, window rain guards, and wing mirror cap garnish. All of these are also available as optional accessories with the standard Jimny.

It is yet to be seen if the changes are limited to cosmetic updates considering the price cut for the Jimny Thunder Edition. The story will be updated once more details are available with us. That said, the Jimny is offered with a sole 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol motor that puts out 103 hp of maximum power and 134 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed MT and an optional 4-speed AT with a standard 4×4 configuration.
The Jimny is retailed through Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa chain of premium dealerships. Unlike the three-door Jimny sold abroad, the India-spec SUV gets a five-door layout which makes it one of the most practical lifestyle SUVs in the mass-market space. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a direct rival to the likes of Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, however, both are currently available with a three-door configuration only.
