Two batches of products by popular skincare brand Bondi Sands have been recalled.
The SPF50+ products for the face and body may not provide consumers with any protection from UV rays, due to an issue with the medicinal ingredients in the lotions.
Bondi Sands Mineral Zinc Sunscreen SPF50+ Face Lotion in a 60ml container, and Bondi Sands Mineral Zinc Sunscreen SPF50+ Body Lotion in a 120ml container, have been recalled.

The fluids in the two impacted products are splitting into layers, making the medicinal properties potentially useless.
“When (the fluid splits), the medicinal ingredients that prevent sunburn are not properly mixed and when applied, the products may not offer the same protection,” the Therapeutic Goods Administration said.
“When this happens, the SPF of the medicine changes and may not offer any protection at all.
“The ingredients inside the medicine help to protect your skin from damage caused by ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. Since UV rays can cause skin cancer, the protection offered by sunscreen is very important.”
The affected batch numbers are 98181 and 98182 and expire in November 2025. The batch number is located on the top of the bottle near the expiry date.
The TGA has advised consumers of the affected batches: “Do not use it.”
Consumers can return the product at the place of purchase, or contact Bondi Sands at info@bondisands.com.au to arrange a return and for more information.
