In the 19th edition of the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY), the Hyundai Exter was announced as the winner of the Indian Car of the Year 2024. The Royal Enfield Himalayan won the 2024 IMOTY award. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 was named the 2024 Green Car of the Year, and the BMW 7-series won the Premium Car Award.
For Indian Car of the Year, the short-listed contenders were the Honda Elevate, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Jimny, Toyota Innova Hycross, Mahindra XUV 400, Citroen C3 Aircross and MG Comet. The Hyundai Exter won the 2024 Indian Car of the Year Award while the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Honda Elevate, Toyota Innova Hycross were declared the first and second runner-ups, respectively.
For the Premium Car Award by ICOTY 2024, the shortlisted contenders were the Hyundai IONIQ 5, BMW 7 series, Lexus LX, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Volvo C40 Recharge, Lexus RX 350 and BMW X1. The BMW 7-series emerged as the winner of the 2024 Premium Car Award.
Talking about the Green Car Award, the category included the Hyundai IONIQ 5, Citroen eC3, Mahindra XUV 400, MG Comet, BMW i7, BYD Atto 3, Volvo C40 Recharge and Mercedes-Benz EQE. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 won the 2024 Green Car Award while the BMW i7 and MG Comet were declared the first and second runner-ups, respectively.
The Hero Karizma XMR, Triumph Scrambler 400X, KTM Duke 390, Harley Davidson x440, Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, and TVS Apache RTR 310 presented stiff opposition for the 2024 IMOTY title but the Royal Enfield Himalayan came out on top.
