49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is apparently quite an efficient man, needing all of 45 seconds Wednesday to shut down two of the loudest critics of his quarterback Brock Purdy.

Host Kay Adams brought up some of the criticism Purdy has faced, particularly from former NFL MVP Cam Newton and current Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons. Samuel first addressed Newton, who previously slandered Purdy with the title “game manager.”

“First of all, Cam Newton, stop texting my phone, bro,” Samuel said. “You was a fan, like, two weeks ago. That’s mad crazy. You wanted me on your podcast after talking about my quarterback, which is funny to me.”

But while Samuel took all of eight seconds to dispense with Newton, he seemed truly annoyed by Parsons, who posted on social media a few times during the 49ers-Ravens game. In one post, Parsons said, “Down 21 and there no shots or development throws! Should tell you all you need to know!” Samuel didn’t seem to even want to address Parsons’ point, but rather the person making the point.

“Bro, we beat you 42 to, like, whatever the score may be, like, a long time ago,” Samuel said of Parsons. “I don’t get why he’s so bothered by what we’ve got going on over here or whatever the case may be. … I don’t understand, like, you saying that you could be a quarterback in this offense. Like, I don’t understand where you’re going with that.”

Samuel then responded directly to Parsons on X, formerly Twitter, posting at 9:18 a.m. Pacific time: “you worried bout us so much I think you want a niner jersey” with three crying laughing emojis after. Samuel deleted the post within 15 minutes, but that wasn’t quick enough.

For what it’s worth, Parsons replied right back by quoting Samuel’s since-deleted post: “Don’t join Eagles country [three laughing crying emojis] with this bs!! lol bro I just love the game! I love what you doing tho you a dawg bro!”

“It was already personal before the game started,” Samuel said on Oct. 10. “42-10, I don’t think you want to see us again. It might be a little bit worse.”

Even after Samuel told 49ers fans to root for the Cowboys a few weeks back, there’s clearly no love lost between the two teams, even when they aren’t playing each other. One can only imagine how heated things will get if they met up in the playoffs for a third straight year.
