Apple iPhone 16, Samsung Galaxy S24, Google Pixel 9, and other premium smartphones to launch in 2024

In 2023, we saw premium smartphones capturing more and more of the market, with iPhone 15, Google Pixel 8, and Samsung Galaxy S23 models, among other devices. 2024 is about to begin, and here are the premium smartphones we expect to launch this year, including the Apple iPhone 16 series, Samsung Galaxy S24 series, and Google Pixel 9 series, among others.
Apple iPhone 16 series
The new iPhones are expected to arrive sometime in September this year, having four models, as usual – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro. This year’s iPhones are expected to have the same look as the current ones, with some minute changes, like the Action button coming to the non-Pro models and another button on the Pro models. The iPhone 16 models would come with new chips – A18 for the vanilla models and A18 Pro for the Pro models.
Samsung Galaxy S24 series
Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S24 trio on January 17. The Galaxy S24 series is said to have three models – Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The upcoming smartphones are expected to look similar to their predecessors, but with improved AI capabilities and image processing. The upcoming series would come in two chipset options – Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400.
Google Pixel 9 series
Google’s Pixel 9s is expected to debut in the latter half of the year, probably in October. The lineup should include two models — Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. There is not much known about Google’s next Pixels, but we could expect some hardware and software upgrades, including new AI tricks.
OnePlus 12
The OnePlus 12 is all set to make its India debut on January 23, and as it has already been launched in China there is not much secret to it. The OnePlus 12 has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, up to 24GB RAM, 1TB storage, 5400mAh battery, 100W wired fast charging, and 50W wireless fast charging. It features a 6.82-inch X1 “Oriental” LTPO OLED display, 50 MP main camera, 48 MP ultra-wide shooter, 64 MP periscope lens with 3x telephoto zoom, and 13-channel multi-spectral sensor.
Xiaomi 14
Xiaomi 14 series has already made its China debut earlier this year, and if rumours are to be believed, the Xiaomi 14 out of the series could arrive in the global markets later this year. Xiaomi 14 has a 6.36-inch 1.5K OLED panel, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, up to 16GB RAM. The smartphone has triple rear cameras, a 4610mAh battery, and 90W wired charging.
Oppo Find X7 series
Oppo Find X7 is set to make its debut in China on January 8. The series will have two models – Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra. The Oppo Find X7 will have three rear cameras, while the Find X7 Ultra will feature a quad-camera setup with two periscope zoom cameras, making it the first smartphone in the world with such an arrangement. The Ultra model may have Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and the two smartphones will have a 5,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging support. There is no word yet on whether the Oppo Find X7 series will launch outside of China.
Vivo X100 series
Vivo X100 series is scheduled to launch in India on January 4. The series has two models – X100 and X100 Pro. The vanilla variant has the Dimensity 9300 chipset, while the Pro one comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The two phones feature Zeiss-tuned optics with Vivo’s new in-house V3 imaging chip.
