Masti, starring Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi released in 2004, and was a huge success at the BO. Now 20 years after its release, Masti 4 is making a comeback this year. The movie will be written and directed by Milap Zaveri for Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’ home production.

A source told ETimes, “The fourth edition of the Masti franchise will go back to the original 2004 Masti flavour. The pre-production work on the film has begun, and will star Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi. The leading ladies for the film have to be finalised.”
While on the leads of the film, last year, during the Jio MAMI Festival, Riteish Deshmukh had spoken on the art of filmmaking and had shared, ” When we are trying to attract the audience, we have to make sure that creatively we are able to appeal to various demographics. Be it youth or women.”

He also spoke about regional cinema and said, “As it was the subject of ‘Kantara’, a Kannada film came here, and everyone watched it. Why did they watch it? Because they wanted to. It was not a random film that they watched it because it was ‘Kantara’. Any film that is going on in Hindi, in the South, it is a blockbuster film in that language. It is the biggest film in that language. That is why they watched it. If you take ‘Bhaubali 2’ or ‘RRR’, they were sure that in their home ground, it will hit a century. That is why they promoted it abroad. But do we have that much faith in our films? We have to build our homes first. For that, we have to figure out newer ways, newer platforms, how to reach more and more people, and which content we should take.”

While Riteish is busy with his home productions, Vivek will next be seen in the OTT series, Indian Police Force.
