First let’s compare the price and variants, the BMW X7 is offered in two variants – xDrive40i M Sport priced at Rs 1.27 crore and xDrive40d M Sport priced at Rs 1.30 crore (both prices Ex-showroom). The GLS too is offered in two variants – GLS 450 4Matic priced at Rs 1.32 crores and GLS 450d 4Matic priced at Rs 1.37 crores (both prices Ex-showroom).
In terms of dimensions, the X7 measures 5181 mm in length, 2000 mm in width, 1834 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3105 mm. The new GLS measures 5209 mm in length, 2157 mm in width, 1823 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3135 mm. The X7 has 20-inch alloy wheels whereas the the GLS is offered with bigger 21-inch alloy wheels and five colour options to choose from – Obsidian Black, High-tech Silver, Sodalite Blue, Selenite Grey and Polar White.
Moving inside, the GLS gets three interior upholstery options, black, beige and brown, all finished in faux leather. The petrol engine is the 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, turbocharged Petrol engine which puts out 375 hp of power and 500 Nm of torque. Both engine gets 48V mild hybrid technology and Mercedes claims it gives an additional 20 hp and 200 Nm.
Talking about the diesel engine in X7 it gets a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which puts out 340 hp of power and 700 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is the 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, turbocharged Petrol engine which puts out 381 hp of power and 521 Nm of torque. Both engine gets 48V mild hybrid technology and Mercedes claims it gives an additional 20 hp and 200 Nm. Both engines are combined with a 48V mild-hybrid system and both come paired with 8-speed Steptronic transmission with 4 driving modes.
