The inaugural edition of the Nature Photography Contest, held in 2023, recently unveiled its first set of winners, bringing together a community of photographers passionate about capturing the beauty of our planet. Beyond the artistic celebration, the contest’s winners’ circle brings with it a total of €2,000 in cash prizes, roughly equivalent to over $2,000 USD.
This unique photography event, a convergence of artistry and environmental consciousness, has proven to be a focal point for those who appreciate the interconnectedness of photography and our Earth. As the contest showcased the winning entries two months after the submission deadline, it became evident that this platform is poised to grow and extend its influence.
Among the prestigious accolades awarded, Glenn Ostle claimed the title of Photography of the Year, earning a €1,000 prize. Alain Schroeder was honored as Photographer of the Year and will contribute to environmental sustainability by choosing a country for the planting of nearly 400 trees, a collaboration with the organization One Tree Planted. The number of trees is tied to the participation level in this year’s competition, a metric the Nature Photography Contest organizers aim to surpass in forthcoming editions, fostering a greater impact on global conservation efforts.
