This past weekend was among the wettest three day-periods in the Bay Area since last March. A series of storms soaked the 49ers-Packers NFL playoff game Saturday, brought most cities’ rainfall totals back up to near or above historical normal for this time of year, filled creeks and dumped more than a foot of snow in the Lake Tahoe area.
Because of the Bay Area’s varying terrain and microclimates, there was a wide difference in how much rain communities received. Areas along the coast and at higher elevations received the most. Inland areas and lower elevations received less.
