Girl fights for life after three teens injured in fiery crash in Rosedale

Three Sydney teenagers were injured in a fiery two-vehicle crash near an intersection in Sydney’s southwest on Friday night.

All survived after members of the public pulled them from the burning wreck, but one female passenger is fighting for life.

The teens were in a Suburu Impreza which collided with a Lexus near the intersection of King Georges Rd and Payten Ave at Roselands about 9.50pm.

Their car then lost control, mounted the kerb, and hit a tree before bursting into flames.

“Members of the public stopped and removed the occupants from the vehicle,” NSW Police said.

“Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze before it spread to nearby properties.”

The 18-year-old woman who was behind the wheel of the Suburu sustained chest and pelvic injuries, and was treated by NSW paramedics at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Her two female passengers aged 17 and 18 were treated for serious chest and leg injuries and taken to St George Hospital.

The 17-year-old passenger remains in a critical condition. The 18-year-old remains in a serious but stable condition.

One of the members of the public who helped pull the girls from the car, a 41-year-old man, was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, and was later treated at hospital.

The driver and sole occupant of the Lexus, a 28-year-old man, was uninjured. He was taken to Canterbury Hospital for mandatory testing.

Investigations are ongoing, and anyone with information or dashcam footage relating to the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
