This when Google may launch the Gemini app in India

Google announced Gemini, its rebranded AI-chatbot from Bard, yesterday. Along with that, the company also announced the availability of the new Gemini app for Android and Google app update with Gemini integration on iOS.
While the web version is now live and is already available in over 230 regions supporting 40 different languages, the Gemini app and Google app update on iOS are only available in the US.
Google, in its official release mentioned that the apps will be made available in more regions in coming weeks. But, it hasn’t provided exact details when it will be available.
However, Jack Krawczyk, Sr. Director of Product at Google, has dropped a new post on X revealing when exactly, the new Gemini app will be made available in regions other than US.
Replying to well-known YouTuber — Marques Brownlee — Krawczyk revealed that the Gemini app will become available next week in Asia-Pacific, LATAM, North America and Africa.
Again, Krawczyk hasn’t revealed exactly when or on what date the Gemini app will become available. But, we expect it to happen soon and in a gradual manner, rather than becoming available in all the regions at once.
For those unaware, Google has rebranded the Bard to Gemini and has adopted the new name all over the place. Also, the introduction of Gemini brings access to company’s new Gemini Ultra 1.0 large language model with the newly announced Gemini Advanced subscription plan that costs Rs 1,950 per month.
