Tiffany Haddish shares happy video about trip to Israel to find ‘a man’

Tiffany Haddish is on her way to Israel to “have some fun” and find her “future man” in the “Holy Land,” as she shared in an Instagram Live video Tuesday, sounding nonchalant about her destination country being at war with a terrorist organization and the region being mired in violence and humanitarian crises.

Inexplicably, the official social media account of the State of Israel promoted Haddish’s video on X, the Daily Beast reported. The Haddish video was shared amid posts that decried Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people and calls for the release of hostages still held by the organization,

“I might come back with a Jewish baby,” Haddish said in her video, which let her 7.4 million followers see her sitting in business class of a plane about to leave Los Angeles for the Middle East, the Daily Beast said. The “Girls Trip” star, who recently experienced her second DUI arrest in as many years, also made a show of taking sips from a glass filled with ice and what she insisted was orange juice — not a mimosa with sparkling wine.

At one point, Haddish spoke in a sing-song way about her trip to a country at war. Since Oct. 7, more than 29,000 Palestinians also have been killed in Israeli’s military offensive, the Associated Press reported, citing information from the Gaza Health Ministry, which also says the vast majority of fatalities have been women and children.

“On my way to Tel Aviv, then to Jerusalem, then I’m going to the Dead Sea and get me some,” Haddish said playfully. “Going to have some fun, it’s gonna be great, then I’m gonna learn about the politics.”

In sharing Haddish’s video on X, @Israel announced: “Stop whatever you’re doing. The one and only @TiffanyHaddish is on her way to Israel. Tiffany, can we PLEASE throw you a Bat Mitzvah at the Western Wall?”

It’s not known why Israel thought it would be useful to promote Haddish’s video. Meanwhile, people watching the clip suggested it was “tone-deaf,” as well as the product of a pampered celebrity who was being cavalier in how she was talking about her vacation destination, the Daily Mail reported.

“First class, I see,” one person said, while another said Haddish appeared to be “clowning for clout.” Others became very emotional in expressing their views on both sides of the war.

Minutes into her 13-minute video, Haddish sort of got serious by telling her followers that her trip also was going to be “educational.”

“I’m gonna learn about the politics,” Haddish said. “See, I feel like I can’t believe I see everything on the Internet … I need to go see for myself.” Haddish cited her own personal experiences, in which she said that information sometimes posted on social media about her turned out to be incorrect. She also explained that her “education” in Israel would reach way back before the current conflict and include visits to famous locations mentioned in the Bible.

When a user said that Haddish should visit the entire region — including the Gaza Strip — to get a sense of the devastation there, Haddish replied in a way that showed she still needs to be educated on one of the core issues in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinians.

“Who said I wasn’t going to Gaza? Haddish said. “I said I was gonna see with my own eyes, got to go to Israel first and isn’t Gaza in Israel?”

Haddish posted her video on the same day that the United States cast the sole veto of an Arab-backed United Nations resolution demanding an immediate humanitarian cease-fire in the embattled Gaza Strip. The vote in the 15-member Security Council was 13-1 with the United Kingdom abstaining, reflecting the strong support from countries around the globe for ending the war, the Associated Press said. The United States expressed concern that the resolution would interfere with negotiations on a deal to free hostages abducted in Israel.
