The Delhi team was found to have maintained a slow over during their defeat against KKR in Visakhapatnam.
As per the IPL’s Code of Conduct, a second over-rate offence by DC has led to the hefty fine for the team’s skipper, Pant, while “the rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 6 lakhs or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser,” the IPL said in a press release.
Chasing KKR’s mammoth 272 for 7, the second highest total in IPL history, Delhi’s top order caved in within the Powerplay, leaving Pant (55) and Tristan Stubbs (54) to not just repair the damage but also bring Delhi back into the match.

The pair tried their best by hitting half-centuries while stitching a 93-run stand. However, it didn’t prove enough as DC succumbed to a huge 106-run defeat, while table-toppers KKR maintained their unbeaten record, having won their all three matches so far.
