Improved UI design and Animations

HyperOS features a refreshed UI with redesigned app icons, new system font (Mi Sans), and enhanced animations across the operating system. The interface looks more vibrant and fluid compared to MIUI.

AI Capabilities

HyperOS integrates generative AI features like AI Subtitles for generating video subtitles and translations, AI portraits for creating images based on text prompts and existing photos, and AI Expansion to extend photos beyond their original bounds using on-device computation.

The Gallery app also supports new AI features like AI Removal.

Ecosystem integration

HyperOS aims to provide a unified and interconnected experience across Xiaomi’s entire ecosystem of devices, including smartphones, smart home products, wearables, and even electric vehicles in the future. The HyperConnect framework enables seamless connectivity and data sharing between devices.

Performance optimisations

Xiaomi has optimised HyperOS to be lightweight and efficient. The OS storage footprint has been reduced significantly compared to MIUI. HyperOS also promises smoother performance through intelligent background processing and memory management.

However, some inconsistencies and jitters are still present, which may be improved in future updates.
