The luxury sedan involved in the crash is the latest generation C-Class, available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The entry-level C 220d variant boasts a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system, generating 197 hp and 440 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to the rear wheels. Prices for this range range from Rs 58.60 lakh to Rs 62.70 lakh, ex-showroom.
