The announcement comes after friends revealed online that Wysocki was hospitalised due to a problem related to his liver.

His Lydia’s Castle bandmate LeeAnne said on social media that Wysocki was hospitalised on Sunday.

“Jon is currently in the ICU. He has been having issues with his liver that requires him to be under the attention of medical professionals to ensure that he is treated properly,” she said on Instagram.

LeeAnne said “while he has been struggling” there were signs of recovery.

The Staind official Instagram page released a statement on Monday, confirming he had died.

“We first met Jon through mutual friends in 1994. We came together with Mike (Mushok), Aaron (Lewis), and Johnny April in 1995 and founded Staind,” the Instagram caption read.

“The 17 years that followed were some of the best memories of our times together.

“From practice in Ludlow, Mass (Massachusetts) to touring around the world, Jon was integral to who we were as a band.

“Our hearts go out to Jon’s family, and fans around the world who loved him.”

He went on to join the band Lydia’s Castle in 2021 and played with the group up to his death.
