The 77th edition of Cannes was recently held in France and the international festival also witnessed the appearance of some popular names from India including influencers.  While the prestigious festival is held every year in the epicenter of France, welcoming the best actors and directors, the presence of influencers on this platform started a debate. The film festival primarily had attendees from all over the world who were part of cinemas, filmmakers, and industry professionals, however, influencers’ presence made people wonder about their role. The speculation of influencers paying to go to Cannes also started doing rounds on the internet with a certain company’s name being brought up in the picture. In an exclusive conversation with the actor and influencer Deepti Sadhwani who also made her Cannes debut, we asked her to clear the air.

Deepti shares that she isn’t aware of the contract of influencers and the insider story and who has paid how much. However, she believes if a brand gives influencers a platform to represent themselves at Cannes, they are also driving some value from it. “Out of thousands of influencers, they have chosen only 5, un panch influencers ki koi value hogi, following hogi’, She says (Those 5 influencers would have some value and following). Deepti says that such collaborations are a win-win situation for both the brand and the influencer.

Deepti Sadhwani Journey From The Beginning.

Deepti Sadhwani the Indian actress, singer, and influencer started her journey in 2006 when she won the Miss North India beauty pageant. Hailing from the city of Nawabs, Deepti was born and brought up in Lucknow and is currently residing in Mumbai. Deepti Sadhwani has made her mark as an actor, she was featured in ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ and is also known for notable work in her music video Lala Lala Lori. Deepti started her music career with Badhshah in the music video Haryana Roadways and she made a debut as a singer with Meet Brothers. The Business Administration professional was also working as an investment banker before she re-entered the world of entertainment to fulfill her dreams.

The versatile talent expresses that she loves to work and she doesn’t believe in putting herself in a box. “Follow your heart, follow your passion, you don’t have to stick to anything”, She says.

Deepti’s Advise on Shining Amongst Other Creators

Talking about saturation in the content creation field, Deepti shares that her mantra to deal with competition is creating original videos and knowing your USP. She also says that as a creator, one can reflect on the insights to check what type of content is working for them and then create content accordingly. Staying consistent is of utmost importance to grow on social media, She says.

Deepti Sadhwani opens up about how she dealt with social media trolling. Deepti says that she was in two minds before walking the red carpet because of the negative comments however, she ignored trolling and walked confidentially on the carpet. Deepti shares that ignorance is bliss and she usually avoids reading or indulging too much with the trollers.

Talking about the disparity between the real and reel lives of influencers, Deepti shares that the audience has become really intelligent and they can easily identify who is faking it and who is being real.
